This project was a contracted role to initially modify an Excel spread sheet to capture and analyse Bloomberg data, we
completed this in one tenth of the contracted time and consequently we were
further engaged to extend a loan management system and finalise a securities management system
for calculating loan rates and repayments for various parameters relative to LIBOR rates, generalising the algorithms
involved and developing the interface to suit the work flow of the operators, including exception and adjustment rules
This was a complex task as the rules of business vary from loan to loan, for example, the days on which interest is
applicable in various jurisdictions especially when the parties are in different countries.
It is also a core and crucial business task as the amounts involved are usually large.
The system was developed using php and postgresql database system with which we have some expertise and preference.
